Kids, collaboration, creativity. What’s not to love?!

During school visits for Curious World of Dandy-Lion, author Lorraine Hawley and I demonstrate the key steps to making a book and collaborate with the students on a group story of their own creation. I only have about 3 to 5 minutes to sketch something in real time while the kids are coming up with the story components. I feel much better giving their story idea life after the event and am happy to share my process with them.

 It’s important for them (and me!) to be reminded that the creative process doesn’t begin with a finished piece.
